In 2016 there will be a series of retreats with relevance to The Year of Mercy. They will be clearly marked as such. All you have to do is to look on our website www.schoenstatt.co.uk and on the homepage, click on ‘Events’ in the top Grey line. This will give you the full details of the retreats and their cost, timings etc. You can then also view ‘Latest News’ on the homepage, which sometimes carried news on the run-up to an event or post the event. You can also click on ‘Facebook’ in the same area and it takes you to potentially more news about retreats and much, much more.

Retreats offer inestimable value to the retreatant. The word literally means withdrawal. It’s a withdrawal from our normal activities, our usual environment, and from our daily dealings with the world around us. For that period we can be alone with God in prayer, we can commune in different and much deeper fashion. It offer us a ‘strong’ experience of God awakened by listening to his word. All of us require time to be alone with God, in order to develop and expand our souls for the sheer volume of freely given grace we receive on retreat. It is like taking gentle, deep breaths that fill our lungs with life giving energy. So that we can live our lives more perfectly according to God’s will. He needs to become, more and more the source and goals of our daily lives, and this is what is missing and what is likely to be driving your pathway toward retreat, through the action of the Holy Spirit. For our entire Christian life needs to spring from a more intimate union with Christ, and be ordered to this union. Carefully consider one or more retreats during this year of God’s mercy
