School Project on St Paul Teaming up again with the Archdiocese of Glasgow Education dept another schools' project was set up reflecting the Year of St Paul. Schools from across the central belt of Scotland took part in a month long faith and development programme out at Campsie Glen. Through prayer talks and adventurous play the children were encouraged to consider Paul's life and work for growing strong in Faith. Keep on running the race.... we can do nothing without God, Christ in me. Always give thanks. Throughout May 2009 hundreds of pupils took part in the day which centred on the celebration of mass and a visit to the shrine. On May 13th Archbishop Conti of Glasgow joined in the activities and to close the project at the end of the month Cardinal O'Brien from St Andrew's and Edinburgh came along to join the children and project leaders Sr Mary Elsbeth said: This is our fifth project. We began in 2000 with the great jubilee and have followed it up every two years with others like the year of the rosary and Reconcilation. The days with the children have been great fun and encourage a lively understanding of faith Report Fr Michael Savage Photographs copyright: Paul McSherry, John Shalloo |
