May day Celebrations On Sunday 31st May 2009 the Schoenstatt family in Scotland gathered for its May Day celebration and crowning of the MTA. The weather was glorious and sun shone from a clear blue sky which in Scotland being more used to grey skies and rain is always a pleasant surprise! The May Crowning in Scotland goes back to 1974. At that time the movement was based at Ardmory at Langside on the south side of Glasgow. The then Archbishop of Glasgow Archbishop Winning offered the MTA the flower crown symbolising all our offerings and sacrifices. In keeping with the theme of the year of St Paul the preparation and talks centred around the person and mission of Paul. Despite all the difficulties which might have discouraged or put of a lesser person he persevered to bring the gospel to the gentiles. |
