O Come Let Us Adore Him!

17th December 2011
The Schoenstatt Retreat Centre held its Annual Christmas Celebration on Saturday 17th December. Over 100 people of all ages were welcomed by Sister Margareta at the start of the day. The children, dressed as angels and shepherds, settled down on the carpet in front of the stage to enjoy a story telling session led by Sister Mary-Elspeth and Nora Hartley. The story, Blue Kangaroo, encouraged the children to think about giving to others.
Following the story time, the carol service and Nativity began. Baby Jesus gazed lovingly at his mother Mary, whilst a throng of angels and shepherds joined the ‘stable' as everyone sang Once in Royal David's City. The Magi approached the Holy Family reverently with their gifts. Lastly, all those present were invited to approach the stable, singing Silent Night and prayed together.
After everyone was fed and watered, a special visitor appeared bearing gifts. St Nicholas ensured that all children received gifts – and even the adults too!
Once again, the Annual Christmas Celebration was a resounding success.
Merry Christmas to Everyone.
