My name is Ronny Vedrilla and I stayed at the Schoenstatt Centre in Campsie Glen for one month. After finishing my studies in Cologne I wanted to spend some time in an English speaking country. As I started to inform myself about where I could stay, I also talked to a good friend of my mother, who is a member of the Schoenstatt movement. She finally told me about this place. So I wrote an E- Mail to Sister Margareta and offered her my help in updating the Schoenstatt website.
I arrived in Scotland on the 17th of August and started quickly with working on the website. With the help of Sr. Margareta and Fr. Michael I made good progress. I spent my spare time mostly with reading and exploring the area around Campsie Glen. I also went to Lennox Castle, which is definitely worth seeing. The climb to and the final view from the peak of the Campsie Hills is magnificent! At the end of the second week I travelled to Inverness and – thanks to Sr. Margareta – stayed in the house of the Harrisons for two nights. It's a beautiful town but a wee bit touristic. After a boat trip across Loch Ness I took the coach back to Glasgow. In the following weeks I created the back end for the website and showed Suzanne, Sr. Margareta, Fr. Michael and Philip how to use it. Now my website project is finished and my time in Scotland is over. It was a very nice time I met a lot of interesting and friendly people and enjoyed to hike through the hills and woods of Scotland! [back] |
