(Sister Anne Marie originally hails from Wexford in Ireland and has spent the last few years until her arrival in Scotland working with the sisters in South Africa)
I have been asked to give my first impressions of Schoenstatt in Scotland and what came into my head were the words: "Nothing without you - Nothing without us" When one goes somewhere new, it's nice to find out a little about the history, and I am totally amazed at how Our lady has worked here at Campsie. Just one example Sr Margareta told me the story of how the property or rather Our lady's beautiful property was acquired. I heard how much work and searching went on to find a suitable place to build a shrine and in the end it was really our Queen who found it, or rather showed us where She wanted to erect her throne! Nothing without her! It is quite amazing how many people come every day and visit the shrine - Our lady is really drawing them to herself. But as we all know, Our Lady needs instruments and I am equally amazed at the dedication and the love so many people put into the different activities that go on here, An obvious example was of course the Schools project! How many hours of hard work went into this and of course also the prayers that supported each day of the project. Brilliant! Thanks to everyone! I also really enjoyed the monthly Novena and the original and inspirational talks that we get to hear. The freebies are also quite good - my sun flower is doing quite well. The Schoenstatt family may be small, but they are wonderful instruments helping to bring Christ into our world. God is really good to me to bring me here, letting me become a small part in the team, letting me share the joys and of course the hard work but also the graces and blessings that flow from our Shrine. Thanks that I can be part of the team. Sr Anne Marie [back] |
